April Julep Modern Beauty

For April, I selected the Modern Beauty box instead of my regular Boho Glam.  I was interested in trying the new dry shampoo Julep developed, as well as the cuticle serum.  Julep is expanding the products that they offer, and the Modern Beauty box gives the option of selecting the non-polish products featured that month.
The Mighty Nail & Cuticle Serum comes in a click pen and contain peptides that build keratin in nails and collagen for cuticles.  The directions say to use twice a day for 2 weeks and then once a week for maintenance.  The serum itself is thin and dries quickly, and as long as I remember to use it, applying is quick and easy.  The serum is $28, so acquiring it through the Maven program was definitely the way to go.

I use dry shampoo regularly, and Julep's Invisible Dry Shampoo was appealing as it is colorless.  One of the downsides of most of the dry shampoos I've tried is the white residue that they leave behind, so Julep's version sounded ideal.  I've used it several times now, and while it's not bad, it doesn't do as good of a job as my Pssst dry shampoo, white residue and all.  I don't get as much volume nor does it do as good of a job at absorbing oil.  It is also pricey at $22.  I can go through a can of dry shampoo with about 6-7 uses, so this is definitely more than I would want to pay.

The theme for April's polishes was "Turn on the Brights", and I did add on Eden from that collection.  It's a lovely violet blue which dries a bit darker than it looks in the bottle.  I've yet to wear it, so cannot comment on the formula yet.
The retail value of my box was $50, so quite the deal for my $19.99 Maven subscription fee.  I think the products are overpriced to begin with, but I will say that in general, I've been impressed with the quality of the non-polish products.  Julep recently got over $10m in funding to expand their product line, so I'll be interested to see what they come out with!

Disclaimer:  I purchased this.  I subscribe to the Julep Maven program for $19.99/mo.  If you would like to subscribe, please consider using my affiliate link, which helps me earn Jules that can be spent in the Julep shop.

    1. A bottle will usually last me about a month it seems like, and I don't it more than once or twice a week, it seems like.
