I picked up Toile, one of the 6 new powder staining blushes, during theBalm's recent sale. What's a powder staining blush, you may ask? From what I can tell, it's a highly pigmented blush that wears exceptionally well.
Toile is a lovely strawberry color and somewhat unique to my collection. I've got plenty of corals, peaches, and pinks, but very few (if any) wearable reds. Toile falls nicely into that slot, surprisingly. Looking at the pan, I would have thought "pink". But I guess the "strawberry" description on theBalm's site was a good tip off.
As I mentioned, Toile has great pigmentation so just a swipe of my brush in the pan is plenty to pick up enough color. I found Toile to be smooth with a satin finish and no visible sparkle. I personally love this kind of finish, as it's very flattering on my skin.
Toile is long wearing and I experienced minimal fading after all day wear, which will make it a favorite of mine during the hot summer months. Anything that can last the day on my oily skin and in the heat and humidity that is common here in Mobile is a godsend!
Disclaimer: I purchased this.
I didn't find this particularly long wearing. Blush somehow has a way of just disappearing off of my cheek. I love the color and you are right about the pigmentation, I almost which it wasnt so pigmented because it is soo easy to over apply!
ReplyDeleteThat's too bad that these don't last long on you! I've had pretty good luck with the Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes - have you tried those?
