L'Oreal Colour Riche Rich Nude Lip Gloss

Disclaimer:  I received this as compensation for a survey.
Rich Nude is not a color I would normally purchase, as brown lip shades have never really appealed to me.  However, I received this as compensation for participating in a L'Oreal consumer survey, and I've surprised myself by really liking it!
There is actually pink shimmer in the brown gloss, which gives it's a little 'oomph'.  Worn on it's own it provides semi-sheer color that is quite natural looking.  Worn over a lip pencil, I get a more dramatic, intense color that delivers more of the brown in the gloss.

The fragrance free formula is nicely hydrating, featuring Omega 3 and Vitamin E, with high shine and a comfortable wear time of about 3 hours.

The Colour Riche glosses are about $8-9 depending upon location and Rich Nude is a nice surprise!

Fiery Red & Bold Blush Colour Riche Pop Balms by L'Oreal

I've got two of the four new Colour Riche Pop Balms that L'oreal released not long ago - Fiery Red and Bold Blush.  This are supposed to be a moisturizing lip balm that provides sheer color, and they deliver on both counts!
Bold Blush, Fiery Red
Bold Blush is a medium cool leaning bubble gum pink.  The formula applies smoothly and color can be built up, although balm is the operative word here.  These do no irritate my lips like some balm formulas do, and I find them moisturizing with about a 3 hour wear time.
Fiery Red is a bit of misnomer, as I find the color more of a soft strawberry.  It's a very wearable red for me, and I like the translucent gel like quality to it.  It's less pigmented than say, the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters in Candy Apple or Cherry Tart, with more of a balm like texture.
Fiery Red
The Colour Riche Pop Balms are about $7-$8 depending on location, and I got mine from Ulta during a 40% off sale.  Très like!

L'Oreal Rose On and On and Lilac Ever After Colour Riche Caresse Wet Shine Stains

Marketed as a next generation lip stain, these Colour Riche Caresse Wet Shine Stains are supposed to combine the lasting color of a  lip stain with the high shine of a lip gloss.  Best of both worlds, right?  I've got mixed feelings about them....but a bit of background first.
Rose On and On
These are supposedly dupes for the more expensive Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stains.  L'Oreal is the parent company of YSL, so that could very well be, as we do occasionally see similar products released across the brands at different price points.  The reviews I've seen comparing the Caresse Wet Shine Stains with the Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stains do say they have similar formulas, but the less expensive L'Oreal version has less of a color impact.
Based on my experience with the two I've got, Rose On and On and Lilac Ever After, I'd say the sheerness claims are true.  One layer gives a sheer gloss look, but successive layers (I averaged 2-3 layers when I wore them) build up color, although they still look sheer to me.
Rose On and On, Lilac Ever After (2 layers each)
Stain left behind
On the plus side, they do have a glossy shine and I found them fairly long wearing at 3-4 hours.  They also leave a slight stain, as evidenced by my arm swatch after I wiped them off.  I also found them comfortable to wear, although I would not call them hydrating despite their 30% water content or the Omega 3, Vitamin E, and Argan oil in them.  My lips did feel slightly rough the next day, so I'd say they are a bit drying, although I couldn't tell while I wore them.
Rose On and On
On the negative side, they don't really look like the colors in the tube, and the difference on the lips between the two colors I got is slight.  Again, applying multiple layers helps deepen the color, so I would put on a layer, do my brows, put on another layer, apply mascara, put on another layer....you get the idea.
Lilac Ever After
I'd say overall the positives outweigh the negatives for me and I do like them.  I bought mine from Ulta when they were having a BOGO offer, which made them less expensive then their normal $9.99.  If you've tried these, what did you think?

L'Oreal Colour Riche la Laque in I Lacque You A Lot

I Lacque You a Lot is the glossy version of the ColorRiche limited edition lipsticks and liners from L'Oreal.  I was recently able to find a display of both the matte and glossy versions at half off and picked up one of each to try out.  I loved the color of the matte version I reviewed yesterday, but was not crazy about how they felt on.  I'm happy to say the glossy version feels much better!
I Lacque You a Lot
A bright orange red, I Lacque You a Lot is not for the faint of heart.  It's wearable though, and now that I've mostly overcome my fear of wearing bold colors, I quite enjoyed it.  The pigmentation is wonderful, it was comfortable and slightly hydrating on, and the wear time was 4-5 hours sans eating.  The biggest drawback I'm finding with wearing bold lipsticks is that I invariably get some on my chin when I'm eating, so I need to make sure I check a mirror before venturing out again. I guess that's why women carry mirrored compacts in their purses :-)
I look ghostly pale, don't I?
I liked the la Laque version of these enough that I picked up another color, Never Lacque-ing, on my way home from work last week.  There were only a few left, so if you are interested in these I'd check now, as they seem to be disappearing.  It will be interesting to see if L'Oreal brings them back or if they are truly limited edition items.  I found mine at Rite Aid.

L'Oreal Colour Riche le Matte: She's So Matte

She's So Matte, Lacque You A Lot
Disclaimer:  I purchased this.
Another 50% off display at Rite Aid enticed me, this time the L'Oreal Colour Riche le Matte and la Lacque lipstick and liner in one.  Today I've got She's So Matte (408) to show you.
She's So Matte
Housed in a long, thin swivel up tube, She's So Matte is a gorgeous coral pink that lays down lots of color with a matte finish.  The thinner tip does make this easier to both fill in and line lips, at least for now.  Not so sure about when the tip gets rounded down...
I loved the look of She's So Matte, but the feel of it on my lips had me a little antsy.  I'm very sensitive to dry feeling lips, and matte lipsticks are notorious for making your lips dry.  While I didn't feel She's So Matte made my lips look dry or flaky, it did make them feel dry.  When I went to reapply after lunch, I broke down and put balm on top.  Still pretty, but not matte anymore :-)
So, the pros are that the pigmentation is great and I like the finished look, and the con is that le Matte does indeed make my lips feel chapped.  I saw another blog that compared these limited edition lippies to Tom Ford's lipsticks.  Now, I don't know if that kind of crazy talk is true or not  as I've never even been in the vicinity of a Tom Ford lipstick, but if so....you may want to track these down before they disappear.
Considering they are half off at Rite Aid right now, sounds like that could be soon (regularly $7.99, on sale for $3.99).  I like this color enough that I'll be wearing it regardless of the dry feel, although I'm sure I'll break down and shine it up with some balm :-)  Tomorrow I'll show you the bold Lacque You A Lot.

NOTD: Jelly Sandwich with Minnie Style and Bubble Trouble

I recently picked up the OPI Couture de Minnie set of mini polishes and a full size bottle of the glitter from this collection, Minnie Style.  As soon as I saw Minnie Style I knew I wanted to do a jelly sandwich.  Since there is no jelly polish in OPI's newest Minnie Mouse collection, I turned instead to Bubble Trouble, part of the "Miss Candy" L'Oreal Colour Riche collection of 8 jelly polishes.
Bubble Trouble impressed me as it definitely has a jelly finish, but is more opaque than other jellies I've tried.  This translates to using less layers to achieve the jelly sandwich effect, saving a bit of time.  Nice!  The soft bubblegum pink color complemented the white, red, and magenta hexagon glitters of Minnie Style quite well, I think.
I found dabbing Minnie Style on and then pushing the glitter bits around with the brush worked best.  This allowed me to use only one layer of the glitter, sandwiched between two coats of Bubble Trouble.  I used Seche Vite's base coat and Butter London's Quick Dry top coat to finish.
I also have the red jelly from the Miss Candy polishes, and if these interest you, there is a BOGO offer on L'Oreal products at Rite Aid this week, plus you can print a coupon for $3 off of 3 L'Oreal nail polishes here that is good through June 14th. I can also see a white jelly such as OPI's Don't Touch my Tutu! paired with Minnie Style making a nice peppermint stick/Christmas look.  Lot's of versatility here!
