Vivid Rose ColorSensational Vivids Lipcolor by Maybelline

Vivid Rose is the last, but certainly not the least, of the ColorSensational Vivids Lipcolors by Maybelline that I have acquired.  This rich and bright pink manages to make a statement without making me feel self conscious.  Could I be becoming comfortable with bolder lips?  I believe I might!

The formula of all four of the Vivids Lipcolors I've tried is exceptional - intensely pigmented, smooth, creamy, and comfortable to wear.  They have a glossy finish and the wear time is a good 4-5 hours before I start feeling like I want something more on my lips.  Just an all around lovely lipstick, truly.  Factor in the inexpensive price and the ease with which you can find these, and you've got a winner!

I've also got reviews of Vibrant Mandarin, Pop of Cherry, and Shocking Coral available.  All are lovely and each time I wear one I think "this is my favorite", which just goes to show how great they all are :-)

Shocking Coral ColorSensational Vivids Lip Color by Maybelline

Shocking Coral is the third of the ColorSensational Vivids lip colors that I've acquired.  It reminds me of a flamingo pink, which is a color I'm just inextricably drawn to for some reason.  Of course, there are lots of variation in color with real flamingos, but I've yet to see one that I didn't think was stunningly beautiful!

Shocking Coral is quite beautiful as well, and it does provide a pop of pink that can be shocking or muted, depending on how you wear it.  These lip sticks are so incredibly pigmented that they lay down color with just one swipe.  If I want a more muted look I tone them down by using my finger to blend out the color.  They also have a glossy finish and wear comfortably for a good 4-5 hours. 

To me, the color leans a bit more pink when it's on my lips than it looks in the tube or the arm swatch.  I'm sure skin tone and lip pigmentation play a role in that.  Gorgeous color, either way.

Here I'm wearing Shocking Coral on it's own, and while it looks more matte in the face shot, you can see how glossy it is in directly sunlight.

The ColorSensational Vivids Lip Colors are less than $8, which given the pigmentation and comfortable wear time, make them a steal!

Pop of Cherry LE Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids Lipstick

Maybelline released 4 limited edition Color Sensational lipsticks this spring as part of their Color Goes Electric collection.  Having never been a vivid lip color person, I was nevertheless so impressed with the Vivids lipstick formula that I've now acquired several.  Today I have Pop of Cherry to show you.

Now, I don't know if Pop of Cherry is a morpher, but on me it's a blue based red that leans slightly pink.  I've seen it described elsewhere as a coral leaning red, a red with flashes of tangerine, and a true cherry red.  I'm guessing skin coloring and lip pigmentation could be a factor in how it looks on each person.

The formula is delightful, as this is a one stroke lip color that is creamy, comfortable on the lips, and wears for a solid 4-5 hours.  My lips don't feel dry after wearing these, but I wouldn't call them moisturizing either.

For the reasonable price of about $6-$7 depending on where you buy them, these are worth seeking out.  I've still seen displays at my Rite Aid with the limited edition colors, but no telling how much longer they will be around!
