Disclaimer: I purchased these.
Sometimes I'm attracted to products just because of the color. It may not even be a color that I think I'm going to wear all that often, but I just love the color! That was the case with these NYX Studio Liquid Liners in Extreme Green and Extreme Blue, no doubt also influenced by the frequent sales Ulta runs to sweeten the deal.Extreme Green is described as a lime green by NYX, but I think of it more as a spring green. I've got a weakness for this color that goes back decades, and I can still remember the first pencil liner I bought years ago in this shade. As you can see from the swatch, too much pressure causes baldness in the line, no doubt from the thinner liquid consistency. The pigmentation is there, however, so careful application is all that is
required.
The only thing I don't particularly care for is that I cannot get as thin or precise of a line with these as I can with a felt tip applicator. I've been using a firmer, shorter brush with these, as it gives me more control. That's not to say the brush applicators that come with the NYX liners are bad, just that I prefer something that gives me more control
Extreme Blue is a vivid cobalt blue and definitely an attention grabber, but I find it can be toned down if needed with powder shadow on top. Once these liquid liners dry they are set and I experienced no smudging, migration, or fading throughout my day.
Available in 12 colors and only about $4.50 each, what's not to like?
Wow no smudging? That's impressive! I love the cobalt blue one!
ReplyDeleteThey wore really well on me!
DeleteThe green wasn't as vivid as I was expecting but the blue looks great on. :)
