Chantecaille Cheek Shade Elephant Fun

Chantecaille's Elephant Fun cheek shade was part of my September Space NK order, but it was back ordered and arrived maybe 6 weeks later.  It's a lovely little thing with an embossed baby elephant in a soft apricot with an overlay of shimmer.  When I say little, I also mean in size, as it will fit in the palm of your hand with room to spare.
If you're looking to make a statement with your cheek color, this is not the one to go with.  The shimmer comes off immediately (which is not a bad thing), and what's left is a satin finish that looks so natural on the skin.
It lays down a soft wash of peachy apricot and would be hard to overdo.  It shows up on my cold weather pale skin, but I doubt it would on those with medium/dark skin tones.  The texture is really lovely, no doubt due to Chantecaille's micro-particle technology, which produces an ultra-light, ultra-fine powder.  I was impressed with how it wore, as I could still see color at the end of the day, which can be hit or miss with my oily skin.

Chantecaille is a luxury/high-end brand with an admirable eco-consciousness, and 5% of the $38 I paid for the Elephant cheek shade goes to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, an organization that rescues, fosters and releases baby elephants orphaned by ivory poaching.  A quick search showed this blush from Chantecaille's fall 2012 collection is still available at Barnaby's New York.  Beyond that, I saw a listing for $59.99 on Amazon, and that was about it!
