First off, I love how slim this palette is. It's compact in a good way, yet you are still getting sixteen shadows - 8 mattes and 8 shimmer/metallics. It feels sturdy and I'm happy to see the shadow names listed under each pan. So does the palette live up to the generally great reviews?
Yes, these are some seriously nice shadows. The mattes are smooth, pigment is good, I had no issues with patchiness or blending, and they perform overall very nicely. My one caveat is that these are not the longest wearing shadows on my skin. They didn't crease so much as start to break up on my lid. I countered by wearing Maybelline Color Tattoo underneath as a base color, which seemed to solve that issue.
It is so nice having a selection of similarly colored mattes and shimmers in the same palette, as I love layering the two. Cream makes for a great brow highlighter while Nude and Champagne work well as inner eye highlighters. Lt. Bronze, Pewter, and Garnet were my favorite overall eye shimmers with Taupe and Mauve as their base. Deep Purple and Slate are my choices for liners, they are lovely.

Sadly, the Rockin' Red Hot Pro set is no longer available at Ulta, although the original Pro palette at $42 is. Even more sad, Sephora will no longer be carrying Lorac at all, although I understand that Kohl's now is. Tomorrow I'll show you some more of the looks that I did, as well as talk about a new way I'm choosing my makeup for the week!
The color matching is fantastic, very versatile!
ReplyDeleteIt's one of those palettes that is very user friendly!
Delete:( why would sephora stop selling Lorac! I also cannot find the Naked 2 palette on their site anymore!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great value and I love the look you did! I will admit that I am also someone who looks for instant gratification and I should learn to be patient!
Hmm, that's interesting about Naked 2. I have no idea why brands leave and what's all behind that, but I can only assume it's got something to do with money:-)
DeleteI never really got into Lorac so Im not devastated with the news but this gift set looks like an amazing deal!
ReplyDeleteI've never really gotten into Lorac either, but I am glad I got this set as it is well worth it.
