Fall Hued Eye of the Day Using Matte Shadows

Disclaimer: I purchased these.
I woke up yesterday feeling like I'd been hit by a truck. It took me a good hour of sitting on the couch drinking coffee before I could convince myself to get into the shower. When I went to put my contacts in, I dumped Dr. Bronner's liquid soap all over one, thinking I was reaching for my lens solution. It was one of those days.

So, I'm going to post an eye look that I did a few weeks back that turned out really well.  I focused on using matte shadows, including the vibrant terra cotta orange from stila's discontinued In the Know. Still one of my favorite palettes.  Urban Decay's new Naked Ultimate Basic matte palette looks like it has some similar shades.
I've been using tape on the outside corners of my eyes in order to get a cleaner line, and I like the results.  Sometimes shadow extended too far drags down my narrow eyes, so I'm glad I discovered this tip from YouTube. I frequently view YouTube beauty videos online right before bed, just to lull myself to sleep. Some current favorites are KathleenLights, Tati, BiohazardousBeauty, and Kimberly Clark.  How's that for variety?

We don't get much fall color in Mobile, although brown leaves are falling from trees.  It's also still in the 90's during the day, so I have to pretend that it's fall. You do what you can.
At least we get a lot of sun :-) Happy fall equinox!

Lorac Pro Palette Eyes of the Day (EOTD)

Lt. Pink, Mauve with Black over lashline
As promised, here are some of the other eye looks I've done with my Lorac Pro Palette (see review and swatches here).  Here is Mauve with Lt. Bronze over it and Deep Purple over Urban Decay's 1999 eye pencil.  Can I just comment on how much I love 1999?  I cannot believe Urban Decay discontinued it.
Next is the matte Taupe with shimmer Pewter on top.  Eyeliner is Estee Lauder's kajal pencil in Blackened Cocoa.  I've got to get a review of those eye pencils up soon, because they are NICE.
Here is Lt. Pink and Mauve over Maybelline's Color Tattoo Inked in Pink, with Deep Purple over Urban Decay's eye pencil Crash.  I mentioned yesterday that I'm doing something different when it comes to choosing what makeup to wear.  The idea is not my own, but something a forum I participate on was doing called The Monday Club.  The idea is to chose items you want to focus on for the entire week in order to either (a) use them up (b) use items you may have been neglecting (c) shop your own stash as opposed to going out and buying something new. There are probably some other reasons I'm missing.
Since I'm on a no buy through March and have A LOT of makeup that gets unused, I thought this would be a great thing for me to do.  It's actually streamlining my mornings a bit, as no longer do I sit staring at a drawer full of makeup trying to decide what to wear.  First world problems, I know.  Obviously, one of last week's items was the Lorac Pro Palette :-)  The final look is Taupe and Garnet layered, with Urban Decay's 1999 as an eyeliner.
