Disclaimer: I purchased this.
Estelle, a new and at the time exclusive polish in the September Julep Galaxy mystery box, mimics the look of a darkened cosmos sky filled twinkling stars. While it can be worn without a top coat for a rough, textured finish, I prefer a glossy look. Getting that glossy look took a coat of Gelous followed by Julep's Gel top coat, but on the plus side it wore like iron :-)The holographic shimmer in Estelle is really lovely, as it throws off lots of different colors in direct light.
Hmmm, so what imagery does Estelle inspire for me? I'm thinking of Sandra Bullock tumbling end over end through space. I haven't seen "Gravity", but I can imagine the sheer terror of being stranded in a place where rescue is all but impossible. The special effects are supposed to be stunning, so I'm thinking I may take in a matinee this afternoon. Apparently this is one that needs to be experienced in the theater.
But back to polish. How does Estelle compare to Zoya's Storm and do you need both? As far as formula is concerned, I definitely prefer Storm. It is not gritty and was easier to work with. Here is a picture of Storm so you can compare:

Wow! Storm and Estelle really do look similar! I prefer a smoother finish, so I'd probably pick Storm. The sparkles really pop from the black, I can't stop scrolling back up and looking! Haha!
ReplyDeleteThey both really pop in the sun!
DeleteBoth are so pretty, but very close.
ReplyDeleteYep, virtually identical.
