BFTE Greens Round 2: Mouse King, Tropical, Kraz, & Journey

Beauty from the Earth (BFTE) has got such a nice selection of eye shadows, and I definitely picked up a good sampling of their green colors.  Today I've got Mouse King, Tropical, Kraz, and Journey to show you.  All swatches are over UD's Eden primer and the darker swatches are using BFTE's Mix & Fix medium.

Mouse King is a bluish green shimmer.  There was a fair amount of sparkle fall out with this one, so applying wet may be the better option.
Mouse King
I'm fascinated with Tropical, it's another of those color morphers.  Notice how the dry swatch has some yellow undertones, bu the wet swatch leans more blue?  If you enlarge the jar shot you'll see the blue pigment in the mix.  Very cool.
Tropical
Kraz is a medium bright green shimmer. There are some sparkles in Kraz, but fallout was not as big of an issue as with Mouse King.  Not much of a difference between the dry and wet swatches, nice pigmentation on this one.
Kraz
Journey was my least favorite of the four, mainly because I'm not sure how I'd use it.  It's a very shimmery light blue green.
Journey
Here is a look I did using two color morphers - Tropical and Buttercup.

I got these as part of a 16-piece sample set for $29.  There are several different options for samples sets, and I got the build your own.  For swatches of the other green shadows I got, you can click here.  I also got some orange shadows, which you can see here.  It was lots of fun choosing from all the colors, the sample sized jars contain a generous amount, and is a great way to try different colors before committing to the regular sized shadow!

Disclosure:  I purchased these and have no affiliation with BFTE.

BFTE Green Eyeshadows: Limelight, Secret Garden, Ying Yang, Lichen

When I ordered some shadows from Beauty from the Earth (BFTE), I somehow managed to pick mainly oranges and greens.  Ten green shadows, to be precise, with 4 to show you today.   All swatches are over UD original eye primer.  The lighter swatch is dry, the darker is using BFTE's Mix & Fix sealant.
Limtelight
Limelight is a chartreuse green shimmer that leans towards gold on the eye.  Very pretty and a good eye brightener.
Secret Garden
Secret Garden is a bronzed olive.  When used wet, the green comes out more.
Ying Yang
Ying Yang is what I think of as parrot green.  It's more vibrant than Limelight but in the same color family.
Lichen
Lichen is the perfect name for this shadow, especially when used wet.  It's a matte and I'm not sure yet how I'm going to use it, although it's an interesting color.

Items used for this look were:
  • Maybelline's Color Tattoo in Barely Beige over entire lid
  • Limelight on first 2/3 of lid
  • Secret Garden in crease and above/below lash line
  • Eyeko felt tip liner in Olive
  • Lancome Hypnose mascara
Disclosure:  I purchased these.

BFTE Oranges and Candy Corn Eyes

Fall and cooler weather can't get here soon enough for me.  Maybe that's why candy corn kept popping into my mind when I was swatching these orange shadows from Beauty From the Earth (BFTE).  I recently ordered a sample collection of 16 colors and low and behold if orange wasn't one of the predominant colors I chose.  I hated the color orange when I was a teen, and now it's one of my favorite colors.  Funny has your tastes change.

Some of the colors look so similar in the pots, but there are some subtle differences.  The darker swatch of each color is using BFTE's Mix and Fix sealant, the lighter swatch is dry.
Wacky, Woozer, Mayhem, Old Time Taffy
Wacky is a soft sheer medium orange when applied dry, but using the Fix It medium is an easy way to get a darker opaque coverage.  There is a slight gold shimmer that becomes more evident the more you layer it.
Wacky
Woozer is similar to Wacky in color but has a pink shimmer that becomes more apparent when applied wet.
Woozer
Mayhem is a yellow orange sparkle.  You can see some of the sparkle fallout in this swatch, so patting this on initially will help minimize glitter migration.
Mayhem
Old Time Taffy has more of a peach cast than Mayhem and looks a bit softer.  There are small glitter particles here as well, although not quite as much as Mayhem.  Applying them dry worked better for me than using the Mix and Fix sealant, which seemed to cause the glitter to concentrate in areas.
Old Time Taffy
Orange is opposite from blue on the color wheel, which makes them complementary colors and a good contrast for blue eyes.
I used Maybelline's Color Tattoo in Barely Beige over my entire lid.  I used Mayhem on the inner corners and Wacky on the outer 2/3 of my lid and in the crease.  I then did a thin line of L'Oreal's Infallible gel liner in Bronze, topped with Lancome's Guest List on my upper and lower lash lines.  Mascara is Julep's Boho Glam.  I think of this look as my candy corn eyes:-)
Bring on the candy corn and cool weather please!

Buttercup Eyeshadow by Beauty from the Earth

Buttercup is a matte eyeshadow from Beauty from the Earth (BFTE) that I've become a bit fascinated with.  First time I used it, I figured it would be a good color for my brow because it's a nice bone/beige, right?  So, I proceed to apply and am surprised that it's definitely more true to it's name, as it has a distinct yellow tone.  It applies much more dark than it looks in the container - a color morpher.

I wouldn't usually use color all the way to my brow, but I went with it since I'd already applied Buttercup under my brow.

I used a shimmer shadow on my inner eye and a darker shimmer brown along my lash line and in the crease, and I like the monochromatic look.
Buttercup is $6.50 for a regular size or $2 for a sample, which is the size shown above.

Disclaimer:  I purchased this.
