Birthday Suit Creaseless Cream Shadow by Benefit

Birthday Suit is the only cream shadow by Benefit that I have, and I'm seriously wondering why.  It's actually my favorite neutral colored cream shadow, which is saying a lot considering my love of neutrals and my love of Maybelline's Color Tattoo cream shadows, particularly the LE color Barely Beige.
I believe I acquired Birthday Suit as part of a set, and I dropped it and cracked the cap within the first week.  However, the cream has not dried out in the over three years I've had it, which is pretty darn impressive.  I read somewhere that it helps to store cream shadows upside down, so that's what I do.
I love using cream shadows as a base, particularly with matte shadows.  I find that the combo of the shimmer in the cream complements the matte shadows nicely, giving just enough sparkle without veering into frosty territory.  It also helps to extend the wear time and I rarely experience creasing with this combo, although I can see a bit of disintegration after a full day.
I like how smoothly Birthday Suit applies, something I appreciate more as I get older.  I think this is where the formula of Birthday Suit beats out my beloved Color Tattoos, as they can be a bit more stiff in texture.  I decided to swatch the closest other cream shadows I own to Birthday Suit to compare, and no dupes were found, surprisingly.
Also, I cut all my hair off a week ago in a pixie cut, so now I have bangs.  I'm still getting the hang of them, but I've got to say I'm enjoying the change :-)  My hair grows so fast, it will be interesting to see the evolution.

  1. You go girl, rockin that pixie!! You look gorgeous!! I haven't tried any Benefit cream shadows. I don't know why?? I love MAC Painterly, and a few of the color tattoos. This particular color is right up my alley. It looks like a cream version of UD Sin eyeshadow, which is a favorite!!

    1. Thank you! I'm really enjoying the cut, totally different than my usual :-)

I do not have any MAC Paint Pots, I need to try those as I always hear good things about them.

    1. Yeah, $20 is a bit expensive. I wish they'd come out with a good set deal for these.
